I was happy to work with this pack of four brothers a few weeks back. Due to the very wet weather we did an indoor session to help each of these young models update their cards. Not having a sibling myself, I find it so interesting what characteristics, both physical and personality wise, they do and don’t have in common. Lucky for me I have two little boys so at least I knew the kind of humor that would put them to ease in front of the camera!

Spring Inspiration

This is my favorite time of year in the bay area. The hills turn from gold to green. The flowering trees catch wind and rain petals all around and it makes me feel happy and go running for a pair of cute flip flops. I love all types of photography people give you so much character and no two smiles are alike. But I also love to photograph nature. Flowers, trees, clouds, and even bugs (well I do have two boys). Here are a few spring photographs that help inspire me and hope they inspire you too!

Family / Newborn Session

I worked with the Gill family a couple years back for their holiday portraits. I was thrilled when they asked me the help them capture their family before and then after the newest member of their family was born. They are a very sweet family and I had a fun time during their sessions. A few weeks ago I posted a few photos from their maternity session and here are a few of my favorites from their newborn session. Enjoy!

Being 5

Being 5 years old isn’t easy. You are leaning so much every day and some things take time to understand. You want to be independent and make some of your own decisions, yet also need so much from the big people in your life. Bigger kids have the advantage in so many ways that only time will give you.

However, when things go right and you learn something new or your find something funny you quickly let it fill your world and heart with so much happiness that all your past struggles fade away and then you have joy.

A hair cut makes a world of difference

Some of you might be aware that our little Murphy got into a bit of trouble over a slice of turkey earlier this year. One broken leg and a neuter later, our pup was in dire need of a grooming. We love him a bit shaggy! However, due to the shaved sports and mattes in his hair from the cast we had to clip him extra short. I’m glad you can see his beautiful brown eyes, but he now looks like he lost about of him at the groomers!

Valentines Day Fun

This year we got a bit crafty with our Valentines for each of the boys classes. We gave each kid a lollipop adorned with with either pouty lips for the girls or handlebar moustaches for the boys. They were pretty cute and a big hit in the classes!
